Be Careful of Diseases Transmitted from Animals

In Ibaraki Prefecture, a pet has been confirmed to be infected with the SFTS virus. This virus is transmitted by a tiny insect known as a “tick”. Humans can also become infected through contact with infected pets such as dogs or cats.
How to Prevent SFTS Infection
- Avoid tick bites!
- Ticks live in mountains and grassy areas, so when spending time outdoors, wear long sleeves and long pants to protect your skin.
