Toyama Prefectural Suiboku Museum Collection “Seven” tips to enjoy Ink Washing Paint

This exhibition introduces the charm of ink wash painting, composed only of black and white. About 70 works from the Toyama Prefectural Suiboku Museum collection spanning from the late Edo period to the present are on display, showcasing the richness of ink expression.
Works by leading figures in Japanese painting, such as Tessai Tomioka, Taikan Yokoyama, Seiho Takeuchi, and Matazo Kayama, are displayed.
Contemporary artist Seiji Sonoke has selected two works from the Museum of Modern Art, Ibaraki collection and intoroduces them alongside his own work “Moonlight” and others. An interview is also included, offering visitors a chance to appreciate monochrome expression from a modern artist’s perspective.
