WYCCI announces its upcoming event English guided tour of “Mito Study Path”

2025/4/25Notice

WYCCI – The World Youth Communication Club of Ibaraki
Announces its Upcoming Event
English Guided Tour of “Mito Study Path”

The Mito Study is said to have originated with the compilation of the “History of Japan“ by TOKUGAWA Mitsukuni (1628 – 1700), the second lord of the Mito domain. In the late Edo period, the ninth lord of Mito domain, TOKUGAWA Nariaki (1800 – 1860), and others proposed a policy of the doctrine of restoring the emperor and expelling the barbarians from the land in which the entire nation would stand up to foreign nations under the authority of the emperor. This philosophy of dealing with various issues from a national perspective played a major role in the Meiji Restoration and the formation of modern Japan.
To learn about the Mito Study and convey our hospitality to foreigners visiting Mito through English, we have planned an English guided tour of the Mito Study Path. This training enriches you how to handle our heritages and translate them into English. Why don’t you join this event and help us translate what Mito Study is like in English? We are all looking forward to meeting you and your friends at this event. Thank you.
